It's great to see when celebs use their fame and influence for good. Rihanna and 50 Cent have recently used their star power for good to help find a donor for an upper West Side infant in need of a bone marrow transplant. Both celebrities had their cheeks swabbed hoping they would be able to donate marrow to 1-year-old Ayelet Galena, who suffers from dyskeratosis congenital, a rare life-threatening disease.
The both of them are asking that their fans will follow their lead and get tested in hopes to find Ayelet a donor. A German bone-marrow donor center told the New York Daily News, "It started out with Rihanna tweeting, and then I asked 50 Cent, he has helped us before. And then [Ayelet's] dad got all these other artists and bands aboard." Since then Pharrell and Linkin Park have also gotten involved.
