CFDA Awards 2011

 Lady Gaga was honored at this year's CFDA Awards with the Fashion Icon Award and arrived in this custom Thierry Mugler dress.  (who doesn't love a studded thong?)  And because she's Gaga, her after party attire transformed into this.

 I can't much comment on how much I like the look, as I see it as mostly costume-y.  

But otherwise, here are some of my favorites from the night.

 Naturally MKA, but mostly MK in this case.

Yigal Azrouel and Zuzanna Bijoch- loving the orange with pink accents and cutout details and dying over the shoes.

 Chanel Iman (in BCBG) the color and fit are to die.

 Miranda Kerr (in Michael Kors)- did she really just have a baby?  Please girl.

The Great Sock Debate.

While the days of summer MUST be getting closer, in NYC we are yet to really make it into warm weather territories. As I have been preparing my shoe wardrobe for the warmer months I just can't wait any longer to bust out my open toe shoes! Thus is the question, dare I attempt pull them off with socks? (I've gotten the over the knee sock to work, but the ankle sock walks a very fine line)

I think the look can be pulled off so cute with just the right sock with just the right shoe with just the right outfit and just the right amount of slouch to the sock. And of course the look works fabulously on the runways or on celebs (see Rihanna, Chloe Sevigny and Leighton Meester), but can I pull it off for every day without it looking too fussy, too hippie or too 80s? I'll continue to have the great sock debate in my head, but how about mother nature make things easier for us all and bring out the warmer temperatures! (in the mean time perhaps I'll be on the look out for an appropriate ankle sock on my lunch break...)
