Ya'll like my new Nasty Gal banners? I'm stoked to have them on my blog since I'm a major fan. These are a few of my favorite new pieces they have right now for summer. Go peep them out now!
Evil Twin Bad Brains shorts, Black Milk Rainbow Galaxy Leggings, Senso Indigo Leopard Booties, Pattie Crochet Dress, Inner Circle Blouse
Nasty Gal just came out with their May 2011 look book, and what a looker it is! I kind of obsessively check their site at least once a day to see what new items I can snag before they're gone. If you haven't checked out their site yet Go NOW!!
It is the time of year that all around are cute Easter dresses for little girls in store windows and brightly colored candy everywhere. The trees and flowers are finally starting to blossom and the sun is shining longer. But the biggest sign of spring for me has to be in my shoe closet! I have been preparing for this time for weeks and months now and it is just about here...and of course, Jeffrey Campbell has been right there with me (Thanks to Solestruck and Nasty Gal). My brand new Litas, Fords, and Mariels will be putting that extra spring in my step this season and maybe if I am extra good, the Easter Bunny might slip an extra pair in my basket this year!
(and yes, sometimes I have photo shoots with my shoes.)
Maybe it's because I started my day listening to the Forrest Gump soundtrack that led me to purchase these American flag inspired Converse Chuck Taylors this morning. When Sweet Home Alabama came on, all I could think about was Forrest dancing in his new sneakers in his living room with Jenny. One thing led to another and bam, a morning filled with all things American and Hippie and Peace and Love. While I'm not usually one to be all patriotic, I am kind of feeling the 1960s American free love vibe for some looks this summer.
And of course getting ready to make fresh pies and tarts when the berries are finally in season.
(Also, yes I realize that Neil Young is Canadian- but that album just embodies the feelings I have in the rest of the post, and he looks so cool on the cover.)
Just a few things that are putting me in a happy place at the moment. The last of which just became mine in one click (I ask you, who can resist a ginormous smiley face cardigan?)
And the girl in the top photo is mostly everything I want to be in life. Perfection.
File this under: things I wish I could wear to work. (Or even in public for that matter) I mean, my office has a ridiculously loose dress code (too loose at times), but even some of these looks are just pushing the limit a little too far. Whether its just a little too short, too sheer or too cropped, some of my favorite looks for summer will have to be compromised a little in the name of workplace etiquette. And no matter how darn cute I think those studded daisy dukes or see through lace dresses are, I would most likely be fooling myself into thinking I would wear it outside of my apartment even on weekends. images via Free People, Nasty Gal, Planet Blue, LF Stores, RunwayDreamz
And nearly spit out my coffee when I came across these bitches on Nasty Gal this morning.
If I had an endless supply of money (and $118 is totally reasonable for these) I would probably be forced to add these to my collection. Even just to walk around my apartment and feel like David Bowie on a Sunday afternoon.
